Celebrating Louisa Iselin's PhD Success!

Louisa Iselin successfully defended her PhD thesis on the 8th of July! Louie has been a vital part of the Castello Lab since before the COVID19 pandemic. She has demonstrated incredible perseverance and dedication throughout her time with us and have developed key skills in molecular biology, virology, proteomics, transcriptomics and computational analyses.

Her research focuses on how interferon affects RNA-binding proteins (RBPs), and her findings a new layer of regulation that does not involve changes in protein abundance. The regulation of pre-existent cellular proteins can represent the first layer of defence against viruses after interferon stimulation.

To Louie: We have seen outstanding dedication to your research, and we couldn't be more proud of what you have accomplished. We know this is just the beginning of many more successes to come.”

Congratulations once again, and we can’t wait to see what you achieve next!
