Lab achievements at the RNA UK 2024 conference

We are thrilled to share the exciting news from the recent RNA UK Conference 2024, held in Windermere where our dedicated and talented members participated, presented talks and posters, and achieved notable success!

Wael Kamel took the stage showcasing the cutting-edge research happening within our walls. His presentation about cytoplasmic translocation of nuclear RBPs during alpha virus infections moonlighting antiviral roles contributed to vibrant scientific discussions at the conference.

In a true testament to our lab's commitment to excellence, we are elated to announce that one of our post-doc researchers Azman Embarc clinched a prestigious poster prize, shedding light on Functional characterization of the RNA-binding protein PURA as critical regulator of HIV-1 viral infection!

Two other PhD students Zaydah Rolande De Laurent and Rozeena Arif presented posters on elucidating RNA binding Proteins in Aedes mosquitos and predicting RNA protein interactions using AI models respectively.

Another member of Castello Lab Felix Mueller also presented a poster on exploring viral RNA-binding proteome during early mammalian development.

A heartfelt congratulations to all the lab members who actively participated in the conference, contributing to the success of our delegation. It's the collective passion, hard work, and innovation of each team member that make these achievements possible.

Extending deepest gratitude to RNA UK for organizing this enriching conference and providing a stage for researchers to showcase their work.
