Farewell to our Masters Students Josmi and Snehit

Josmi Joseph and Snehit Dyavari Shetty joined the Castello lab before Summer 2023 and worked for 3 months with us co-supervised by Azman Embarc and Vincenzo Ruscica, respectively. Josmi’s project uncovered a high dependency of cytoplasmic, cytopathic RNA viruses on the 5’ to 3’ RNA degradation machinery. Snehit discovered that the cellular RNA-binding proteins PURA regulates reverse transcription inside HIV capsids. Both students are part of the MSc in Infection Biology of the University of Glasgow and did an excellent job. We wish them good luck for all future endeavours.
