As a Master student

What we look for…

We are always seeking for motivated graduated students interested in carrying out a master project in RNA biology, viruses and/or cancer. We are a highly dynamic team that frequently engages in exciting multidisciplinary collaborations inside and outside our group. Our view is that there is nothing impossible, it is just that no one found the way (yet) to do it. If you feel identified with such research style, then the Castello lab is a good match for you!

What you can learn…

We carry out cutting-edge research in RNA biology and virology and cooperate with other labs with complementary expertise. It is typical for students to have a second supervisor in a research area that they want to experience. Thus, the expertise of the current PhD (DPhil) students in the Castello lab includes different disciplines such as RNA biology, virology, proteomics, genomics, fluorescence microscopy and computational biology. This diversity enhances collaborations and multidisciplinary research.

What you can do…

If you want to know more, send us a motivation statement and an up-to-date curriculum vitae. Recruitment relies on a successful application to the Master by Research of the Department of Biochemistry (University of Oxford). We are happy to support students in their applications to scholarships if any opportunity arises.
